Kid’s rooms
Clean: If you have kids, why not enlist them as helpers? Kids can clean and polish their things, so that the objects in their rooms are not grimy and dusty during the school year. Create a place where kids can air out their clothes they wore that day. For easy, fresh hang up later, throw recently worn, lightly soiled items over a room divider. Likewise, throw a heavy comforter over the door to air it out for a few hours, and when you or your kids arrive from school, they just have to toss it over the bed to make it. Simple things like this can help keep the room tidier throughout the school year.
Organize:
Rather than chasing after your children all year to clean their rooms, take some time to help them organize now. Creating a place for every object in a room helps children to know where to put things back when their done. At HCH, we can build display cubbies, alcoves and shelves, as well as help organize things such as toys, books, jewelry, clothes and other belongings to help keep your family organized as the year goes on. Make sure all your dresser-tops are clean and clutter free. Then add a bowl for change, a tray for keys, or a box for jewelry, to help minimize potential messes.
Declutter:
If there is still a lot of clutter in your child’s room, don’t despair. Look at their rooms and see what messes they have the most often. Still leaving toys everywhere? Storing less used items in another place, or below eye level, can help to create more room for other things. Too many clothes on the floor still? HCH can help you reduce clutter. We can take extra items, such as summer clothes, to a storage facility, build shelves in your storage unit to help you safely stow items, and create or find additional storage space in your home.

Files about investments in your home you should keep until you sell it, while monthly bills can be disposed of as soon as you get a confirmation. The IRS asks you to hold onto tax bills for seven years.
Declutter: For children, teaching them how to create a space for homework and school supplies can cut down on clutter in the rest of your home. Get rid of broken school supplies, and stock up on some newer, more useful ones. Then, make sure they all have a home, so they don’t end up everywhere.
